Writer In Residence

The Racine Writer-In-Residence (WIR) program is an initiative founded by ArtRoot, supported by the Racine Literacy Council and funded by the Osborne & Scekic Family Foundation. The WIR normally takes residence at The Branch at 1501 Washington Avenue (1501 Washington Ave. Racine, WI 53403). Due to the pandemic, this is currently a virtual residency.

Through this program, we seek to spotlight Racine and Kenosha’s dynamic literary community while encouraging, supporting, and advocating on behalf of writers at all stages of their careers. Applications for WIR 6-month terms are accepted every 6 months. More information on applying is at https://racinewriterinresidence.wordpress.com/applications/.

A weekly blog is one of the obligations of the WIR, and is published on the WIR site at https://racinewriterinresidence.wordpress.com/.
